TEAM RIT
Andrea Dalle Vedove
Researcher at Technological Innovation Research Institute

Since July 2023 I joined the staff of RIT at Area Science Park as research collaborator assigned to the Structural Biology group of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste within the frame of Pathogen Readiness Platform (PRP@CERIC). I graduated in Chemistry at the University of Padova, before discovering Protein Crystallography and Structural Biology and doing a PhD on them, working in the laboratories of the Centre for Nano Science and Technology of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT – CNST@PoliMI).

I then joined the University of Trento as PostDoc, where I worked on Structure Based Drug Design projects with the aim of discovering new potential drugs to be used in the fight against tumors.

My current research focuses on the determination of the tridimensional structure by X-ray crystallography of proteins of medical relevance (viral or tumor-related proteins) in complex with drug-like small molecules, in the context of structure-based drug design projects

Research Interest
  • Protein Crystallography
  • Structure-based Drug Design
  • Protein purification and crystallization
Experience & Education
  • PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano/ Italian Institute of Technology, 2016
  • MSc in Chemistry, University of Padova, 2012
