TEAM LAGE
Michele Scarola
Researcher at Laboratory of Genomics and Epigenomics

After a Master’s degree in Functional Genomics, I obtained a PhD in Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Trieste. I carried out research activities for several years at Laboratorio Nazionale CIB in Trieste, mainly involved in basic research in the field of molecular oncology and more specifically studying the role of non-coding RNAs related to epigenetic pathways controlling stem cell biology and human cancer aggressiveness.

More recently, I also worked in the field of molecular diagnostics at Alphagenics Biotech Srl, involved in research activities supporting diagnostics and fine-tuning kits development in molecular oncology and in other life science fields.

Currently I work at Laboratory of Genomics and Epigenomics (LAGE) in Area Science Park, supporting various technical-scientific activities carried out by the laboratory in the context of PRP@CERIC project.
