A series of events where a science fiction film screening is paired with a scientific discussion, an exploration of research topics related to the film’s plot, whether plausible, hypothetical, or purely fictional. This is the idea behind the “Cineforum Fantascienza”, organized by Area Science Park and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Scientific and Innovation System (SiS FVG), in collaboration with Trieste Science Plus Fiction Festival.
The three films on the program, all winners from the last editions of the Festival, will be screened in their original language (with subtitles in Italian and English) at Area Science Park’s Padriciano Campus (Conference Hall) and each screening will be introduced by a conversation with a scientist, who will explore one of the scientific themes central to the film. All events take place on Mondays at 6 pm.
Screened films:
- U ARE THE UNIVERSE scheduled for March 24th
- MARS EXPRESS scheduled for April 14th
- LOLA scheduled for May 12th
Events are free and open to all, but registration is required for each screening.
A small aperitif will be offered to participants before each event, starting at 5:15 pm.
